Rooted Buttress Speaker Stand
The Rooted Buttress is a straightforward column stand, but extreme in mass and rigidity: A solid 4-inch thick maple base is rooted to the floor by 4 massive threaded brass cones. The ‘buttress’ is a solid maple column of bridge timber girth (8"x 8"), bolted to the base. Vibration flows from column into base via four miniature brass points mounted on the underside of the column, eliminating micro-rattles between the two. No stand at any price matches the rigidity and resonance-free vibration path of our Rooted Buttress. The all-solid design is crucial. The internal resonances of conventional hollow stands seriously degrade a speaker’s sound, even if the stand is filled with sand or lead.

If you use our 2" solid brass footers to couple your speaker to the Buttress, you’ll roughly double the sonic upgrade. Speaker height increases to 16" and 20". For Buttress customers, I offer a 15% discount for feet purchased to mount their speakers. I recommend using Ultimate Triplepoints for best sound, or threaded Heavyfeet with woodscrews for extra stability.
